March 24, 10 “Toki wo Tomete” is #1 on Oricon!

Today is the first day of charting for TOHOSHINKI’s 30th single, “時ヲ止メテ.” They sold 124,812 units, which is less than their “BREAK OUT” single, but 時ヲ止メテ was released earlier last month as song on the version A of their BEST SELECTION 2010 album, so 124,812 is pretty huge! So, yep, congrats to the boys!

AND I AM STILL WAITING FOR MY OWN COPY! I didn’t select EMS shipping speed this time because it’s too expensive…thus, I will have to wait (hopefully) couple more days for it to arrive.

March 23, 10 What? Junsu solo???!!!

Okay, okay, Xiah Junsu isn’t parting ways with TVXQ, but I just got an email from CD Japan telling me that Junsu will be releasing a solo single! The single is set to release on May 26, 2010 and haven’t been named at the moment. All I know is that it comes with 2 versions, Version A with CD+DVD and Version B, which is single only. It’s quite similar to the way that TVXQ’s Japanese single works. Oh yeah, he’s releasing the single in Japan, not in Korea just in case you are wondering. Anyway, super excited! For some reason I have a feeling that the a-side is gonna be a ballad but somehow Junsu is gonna twist a dance track into the b-side. =]

Can’t wait!

J-Pop queen ayumi hamasaki announced recently that she will release her 11th album, Rock’n'Roll Circus on April 14 of this year. ISN’T SHE SO SO ADORABLE? And she’s already in her 30s! The covers look so good. I hope this album is gonna be filled with some rock tracks since her last album, NEXT LEVEL was filled with dance/disco numbers. Anyway, I got version A because I’ve gotta have the DVD, ya know? I ordered it from CD Japan but then I just found out today that YesAsia is having a give away for any one purchase of the album unlike CD Japan, who is only giving away to people who bought the album plus the DVD. Seeing as I am so poor at the moment, I couldn’t afford the DVD at the moment…so I guess I will not be able to enter…? Oh well, at least I get a pretty covered-album!

March 18, 10 TOHOSHINKI Released Video Clip Collection today…

..and guess what? They debuted at #1 on the Oricon DVD Charts for March 17th, beating L’Arc~en~Ciel’s Hyde’s VAMPS DVD release. Damn, Hyde is being pwned by THSK every time! Sucks…’cause he’s cool but hey, nobody is cooler and hotter than TOHOSHINKI, so I am not complaining!

And I can’t believe but not really surprised that ARASHI’s “Troublemaker” is still on top of the charts after…what, three weeks? Well, this week there isn’t that many good J-Pop releases except for Kalafina’s second album release (Red Moon) and morning musume.’s 10th album…but I am seriously wondering if momusu’s new album is any good because the singles they released for this album was…so annoying. I loved their past works but ever since Yossie (Hitomi Yoshizawa) left momusu, they kinda went downhill. Anyway, not that many good releases this week.

However, next week is a totally different story! The week of 3/24, TOHOSHINKI will release their Toki wo Tomete single as well as their second remix album, TVXQ Non-Stop Mix Vol. 2! One of my fave J-R&B singer, Kato Miliyah will also be releasing a new single, Bye Bye. I hope she will take the #2 spot on the singles chart, right after TVXQ’s!

Anyway, gonna make a post after this too…’cause I just found something!

March 6, 10 ayumi hamasaki to release 11th album!!!!

I just went to CD Japan when I saw on the headline that J-Pop diva ayumi hamasaki is set to release her 11th album, titled, Rock’n'Roll Circus on April 14th! There will be three versions released, CD+DVD, CD Only, and Special Limited release, which is already ~~sold out~~! But it is priced at $124~ so I doubt I would be able to get it even if I found out anytime sooner. The Japanese Team Ayu already got the limited edition way before everyone. Anyway, the track list and everything is not set in stone yet but of course it is going to include her two previous singles, “Sunrise/Sunset ~LOVE is ALL” and “You were…/Ballad” which, I am very sad to say, weren’t my fave Ayu singles. I have LOVE all her songs, every single one of them, since “Poker face” but the last two singles were a bit disappointing. Hopefully her new album won’t be! So I guess I will go for the Taiwan or Hong Kong version for that…teehee. Anyway, gonna pre-order the album now so I can get first press!

March 1, 10 American’s Social Decay…

Okay, so I am extremely pissed today. First off, I do want to say that I am brought up by semi-strict parents although I often talk back to them, their strict values did fall into me. Like, for example, I think certain things are wrong while some other people don’t think so. So yep, my parents are pretty strict Asians, I guess but I have to say that I am pretty much Americanized. I am official liberal when it comes to politics and thinking (such as I support gay marriage [whatever floats their boat, ya know] and abortion [with lots of limitations and having to go through a long process of governmental approval, though!]) but I do consider a part of me being a bit conservative in some areas. Anyway, ever since I entered college, I saw a new side of the American society and I think it is decaying and sometimes I even want to move out of the country because I am so ashamed of some the things that Americans do (that I don’t) and that it is wrong.

Here are some examples that shows how America is decaying…socially:
*Money is everything: i.e. money can buy love, but this applies to countries around the world though
*Money doesn’t worth a thing: I have seen classmates throwing quarters, dollar bills etc. down the trash even way back in elementary school. WTF? Donate your piggy bank to the needy then!
*We like to waste: “We” meaning Americans and I feel bad most of the time doing so. Anyway, I buy coffee and then trash the cup. I turn on the light in every room just to go to the bathroom. Start conserving energy and recycle! I started! It’s never too late.
*Cell phones in elementary school is normal: Well, it’s starting to become normal anyway. When I was in elementary school, my entire household only had one cellphone! Kids these days…
*Dating in elementary school is normal: I met ppl my age that told me they dated when they were in 2nd grade. Now, I saw a boy in elementary school (since I volunteer) trying to woo over this girl.
*If you haven’t date before you turn 16, you are weird: You are basically the talk of the school…if not town.
*If you haven’t had sex before you turn 18, you are weird: Okay, basically everyone I know nowadays had done it. It’s so normal. HA.
*Teenage Pregnancy is becoming a normal trend: You know that American teenage pregnancy rate has gone up over the past 10 years? Tsk, tsk. And the sad thing is that most parents think it is okay.
*Underage smoking is a must-try: And I know that a lot of Asian countries do smoke…so this is not specifically for Americans.
*Underage drinking is a must-try: Same thing as above.
*Majority of American teenagers have tried Hookah: Even the good girls and boys have tried it, believe it or not (okay, I have not, ’cause I am really against “inhaling” things).
*Getting high is very common among college students: Heh, and I am a witness seeing as I am a college student.
*Alcohol + Life = A Must: Seriously, whenever I pass by my neighbors, they are always drinking…even with kids present. WTF? Okay, drink among yourselves, since it is common among ppl of all countries, but why in front of kids? Okay, I do admit that a lot of Chinese does that too.
*For most, partying is a must: Partying every other night or however often is a must, even if you are married and have kids (also a witness, I was like, WTF?)

And I couldn’t think of any more at the moment although I am sure there are lots more…but seeing as it is already 3AM and I have school, I am gonna stop here.

Anyway, can you see how the American society is decaying? No wonder there are so much more crimes because values no longer exist among some…just some; I am sure not all American are like that. If you think that the list above is completely normal things that you do, well, you are one of the typical American.

::sigh:: I really want to move to a country where everyone is modest but I guess human nature is imperfect, so I guess wherever I go, there are going to be similar problems. Hmm, I really do want to move to another country and live there temporarily though; then I will be able to see the difference.
